Natural Detox Diets
Detox diets, also known as cleansing diets are diet plans with the intent of cleansing the body of toxins. They are short term diets typically lasting approximately one to three weeks. Although the body naturally detoxifies, when there is an excess of toxins, alternative methods are needed for maximum beneficial results. They have numerous benefits including better digestive health, higher energy levels, stronger immune system, improved concentration, prevention of headaches, premature aging, and disease. (Not to be confused with curing of disease).
These diets are constructed to eliminate foods from are everyday diets that would hinder the body's natural ability to detoxify by restricting the diet to specific foods.
There are a larger number of diets to choose from when selecting a natural detox diet plan that bests suits you. There are many different kinds of to choose from including; juice fasting, where consuming only fresh vegetable and fruit juices is requested, raw food diet, consisting of only raw foods (heated under 118 degrees), and possibly to be the most well known lemonade diet, also known as the Master Cleanse.
The lemon diet only allows for lemonade, cayenne pepper, and grade B maple syrup to be consumed. Grade B maple syrup, which is simply darker, stronger, and thicker than grade A is called upon for nutritional value.
Grade B which is collected later in the mapling season contains amino acids and vitamins, which is why it is recommended by health experts when cooking.
Although these are only a few of the detox diets, they all consist of consuming natural substances like herbs, nuts, seeds, fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, juices, and rice.
Detox Diets do have health benefits both physical and mental, but are not recommended for everyone including; pregnant or nursing women and those with certain diseases or illnesses. You should consult your doctor before starting a detox diet as it is not suitable for some. Your personal physician will be the one to make the decision whether or not this diet plan is right for you.
After your all natural detox diet you will need to find a meal plan that will keep you on the right track. You don't want to fall back in you old eating habits. Many people that use this all natural detox diet to lose weight, will gain it right back after the diet is over if the don't stick to a balanced healthy diet.
