Find the reasons behind the snoring
To start with finding the cause of your sudden snoring is important. See if you have started with some new prescription medication that ahs been given to you by a health care professional or a new over-the-counter drug. Sometimes, combinations of old and new medication can also lead to snoring due to the over-relaxed muscles in the throat. You can talk with your medical professional and discuss the medicines and know about the side effects when you take them all together.
Medications
Other than medications, see if you have suddenly gained pounds, snoring might be an after effect of your weight gain. Most people, who are overweight, tend to snore more as the layers of fat over the neck can put pressure on the airways, narrowing it. When you breathe in, the air passes over the soft tissues within the narrow airways and that creates intense vibrations, better known as snoring.
Sudden weight gain
Thus, if you have realized that the extra weight gain is the cause of your snoring, proper exercise and healthy diet is important. However, sudden weight loss is unhealthy so keep up a schedule for losing a few pounds every month and you will see the difference in your levels of snoring too.
Smoking and alcohol
Everyone agrees that smoking and alcohol consumption causes irreparable damage to the body but did you know that it is one of the major causes for snoring? Well, smoking causes severe inflammation in the airways as the harsh chemicals irritate the soft nasal tissues, causing the inflammation. While alcohol can lead to over relaxation of the muscles, causing the soft tissue in the palate, it creates high vibrations leading to snoring. Finding the reason for your snoring is essential to finding the cure for it.
